no micromanagement

Post  striker on Thu Sep 11, 2008 2:51 pm

We are asking the district not to micromanage, and yet the BEA wants to do that with break times and sign in sheets. My school has responded much better to not signing out for breaks--taking breaks as they please--in fact, it seems like they are not even taking all their break time. We are adults and we are more willing do do more and to show up and do what's right when it's a choice rather than forced. We've had almost 100% attendance and people have been happy to participate.

You have a good point. It is amusing. However, there are no consequences for us taking breaks more or less often. Plus, you have to admit, contractual obligation is more menacing than Union organizing. Smile
