Returning to class before a contract is approved

Did I hear correctly today that the union might ask the teachers to return to their classrooms before a contract is approved? If so, I wish to respectfully request that this possibility be re-thought. I may be the only one, but I didn't walk mile after mile to go back without the proverbial "handshake". Perhaps it's my "maturity" speaking, but I've been burned by too many promises that were not kept in the end. If this really is under consideration, please think again. Thanks.

Agreed! I want to get back to the classroom as-soon-as-possible, but a handshake is not as-soon-as-possible. The disrespect that we've been shown over the last few months (especially the last couple of weeks) doesn't make for a very trusting environment.
