I haven't been counting but it sure feels like there have been more people honking, waving and giving the thumbs-up everyday. My school has responded much better to not signing out for breaks--taking breaks as they please--in fact, it seems like they are not even taking all their break time. We are adults and we are more willing do do more and to show up and do what's right when it's a choice rather than forced. We've had almost 100% attendance and people have been happy to participate. Do the parents & community know this? I must say a greater percentage of those that spoke were "teacher-positive" during the time I watched. The loudest seemed to be "teacher-negative" (including calling out Steven & Michele for being "lazy" about negotiating), but it's clear almost all want the strike settled with contiuous negotiations (rather than taking Sundays off, etc.). There were a couple of well-placed torpedos aimed at the "acting" ...
